US Ignite Fort Carson On-Base Shuttle Pilot (Fort Carson, CO)

In partnership with US Ignite, the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), and Perrone Robotics, Inc, First Transit is implementing an automated vehicle shuttle project at the Fort Carson US Army installation. The first of its kind, this project will employ the use of a traditional vehicle that has been fully automated by Perrone Robotics’ autonomous engine and controls. First Transit will manage and operate the project. The goals of the 13-month project are to research the safety, cost savings, and efficiency of using AVs in various deployment scenarios at a military installation, while paving the way for future AV projects.

First Transit will deliver and operate two Polaris GEM autonomous shuttles custom-configured by Perrone Robotics. The electric AVs, which support Level 5 autonomous capability, will transport soldiers within the Fort Carson Army Base while also collecting operational data as part of the yearlong pilot.

The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
